On May 14-15, 2025, the 6th Member Representative Conference of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) and the 22nd Construction Machinery Development High-level Forum with the theme of "Opening a New Chapter, Expanding a New Situation, and Creating New Achievements" were held in Taiyuan, Shanxi. More than 460 people attended the conference, including the Association's President Su Zimeng, Secretary-General Wu Peiguo, Vice President Li Jianyou, Honorary President and Special Advisor Qi Jun, and leaders from the Association's vice presidents, executive directors, and governing units, as well as the heads of the Association's professional branches, member units, and industry mainstream media representatives.

At the meeting, President Su Zimeng made an industry development report entitled "Focus on the momentum and achieve the "four-five" development goals and tasks of the construction machinery industry with high quality". It summarized the operation of the industry and the achievements since 2024, analyzed the current situation facing the construction machinery industry, looked forward to the development trend of the industry in 2025, and put forward the key tasks for the development of the industry in 2025.

Su Zimeng said that 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China and a key year for achieving the goals and tasks of the "14th Five-Year Plan". Faced with a complex and changing international environment and a domestic situation with arduous reform and development tasks, the construction machinery industry strives to seize development opportunities, actively respond to changes in the domestic and foreign market environment, overcome difficulties, be proactive, and take the initiative. The industry has achieved fruitful results in scientific and technological innovation, the level of advanced industrial foundation and modernization of the industrial chain has been greatly improved, the international business has accelerated development, product quality and user satisfaction have continued to increase, and green manufacturing, green products, and green construction have orderly promoted high-quality development and made new achievements.

Su Zimeng said that the current industry operation still faces many difficulties and challenges. The external environment is becoming increasingly complex and changeable, the uncertainty of global economic growth is increasing, the environmental protection requirements of relevant countries in the world are becoming increasingly stringent, the industry competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and social opinion and the public are paying more and more attention to many aspects including the safety, reliability, and environmental protection of engineering machinery products. At the same time, with the rapid development of science and technology, the engineering machinery industry is undergoing digitalization, intelligence, and energy diversity. The demand structure of engineering machinery has also undergone major changes. It has gradually shifted from focusing on incremental demand to a stage where both stock updates and new demand are given equal weight, or stock updates are the main stage. Customers have put forward higher requirements for product quality, performance, and service.

These changes have put forward higher requirements for industry enterprises. Enterprises must deeply understand the long-term impact of demand changes, continuously adjust product structures, strengthen technological innovation, and improve their capabilities to adapt to market changes and customer needs, and remain invincible in competition.
